Der Sender wird vom US-Kongress finanziert und untersteht dem Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), das fΓΌr den Betrieb aller nicht-militΓ€rischen Auslandssendungen der USA verantwortlich ist.

Publikum

Im Nahen Osten erreicht der Sender nach eigenen Angaben ΓΌber Satellit etwa 25 % der BevΓΆlkerung. Programmveranstalter ist das Middle East Television Network (MTN). Das Programm ist werbefrei und wird nach eigener Aussage vollstΓ€ndig von US-BehΓΆrden finanziert. Die GlaubwΓΌrdigkeit und PopularitΓ€t des Fernsehsenders wird jedoch von Kritikern angezweifelt.cite-ref-1[1]
